The Village Board approved ordinance 2025-06-09-01, creating exception for modification of legal nonconforming structures between the shoreline buffer zone and between the shoreline buffer zone and nearest point of principal structure or projection thereof. Ordinance 2025-06-09-01
“6.5(4)(a)(i)(A) A legal nonconforming structure located within the shoreline buffer zone may be modified, during its lifetime so long as such modification does not increase the footprint, living area or height of the structure, as provided in Section 6.7(4)(b) below; and”
“6.5(6)(a)(i)(B) A legal nonconforming structure located between the shoreline buffer zone and the nearest point of the principal structure or any projection thereof may be modified, during its lifetime so long as such modification does not increase the footprint, living area or height of the structure, as provided in Section 6.7(4)(b) below; and”

The Village of Chenequa has contracted to repair the Village Hall Roof.
Construction is scheduled to begin on Tuesday, June 10th and continue through the next week. The parking lot will NOT be open and available for parking from
Tuesday, June 10th, through Monday, June 16th.
This schedule is subject to change due to inclement weather. Updates will be available on the Village website, as necessary https://chenequa.org/
Visitors of the Village Hall / Police Department may park on Hwy K in front of the Village Hall and utilize the stairs to the Village Hall entrance. The DPW parking lot is also available for Visitors during construction.
The Village Hall Office Hours are Monday – Thursday, 8 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.; and Friday, 8 a.m. – 3 p.m.

Remember the public boat access facility located on Pine Lake in the Village shall be open from 6:00 A.M. to 10:00 P.M., except on the general fishing opening weekend when the facility shall be open on that first Saturday and Sunday from 4:00 A.M. to midnight. No boat or equipment incident to navigation may be launched during a time the facility is not open, but a boat on the lake at the applicable closing time may be retrieved from the lake after such closing time and a vehicle in the designated parking area at such closing time may remain there until the boat transported by such vehicle is retrieved.

A revaluation of property assessments in the Village of Chenequa shall occur for the 2025 assessment year. Revaluation notices are expected to be sent to property owners in June 2025. Please also notice that the Assessor has certain statutory authority to enter land as described in Sections 943.13 and 943.15, Wisconsin Statutes.
